The department’s Flex Unit consists of a Supervisor, 3 Officers, and 2 K9s, who adjust their patrols based on crime trends identified in the community. The unit can address neighborhood-level and area-specific problems by using increased enforcement and non-traditional methods, working during identified peak times for crime.
K9 Majlo and Citron are “dual purpose” dogs that have the capabilities of performing building searches, tracking missing persons/suspects, article searches, narcotics detection, and criminal apprehensions. They patrol with their partner in specially equipped vehicles, outfitted with equipment to ensure Majlo & Citron are comfortable during his work day.
