Sewer Services Billing

Since there are no meters on sewage outflow from residences or businesses, customer bills for sewer services are calculated based on the water consumption reported to the City by West Wilson Utility District. While usage will be the same for both services, the rates differ and therefore the net billing will be different.

Customer sewer bills are prepared, printed and mailed the last working day of the month. West Wilson Utility District has multiple billing cycles within the month and a customer's sewer bill may not arrive at the same time the water bill does.

Payments Due

Payment for sewer services is due the 15th day of the month of the date of the bill. West Wilson Utility District cannot accept sewer payments and the City cannot accept water consumption payments. The 2 are different just as the suppliers of natural gas and electricity are usually different.

Summer Sprinkling Relief

The City provides relief for summer sprinkling by residential customers 6 months each year on the bills received:
  • June 1
  • July 1
  • August 1
  • September 1
  • October 1
  • November 1
This is accomplished by averaging the water consumption over the 4 months' bills received January 1, February 1, March 1 and April 1, and billing the customers for that average consumption during the relief months unless actual consumption is reported to be lower than the average. If this should occur, the customer is billed for the lesser consumption.

The following chart shows customers when they will no longer be on averaging and when they can resume watering in the spring. Any watering after your stop date will increase your sewer bill and affect your average for next year.

Account #s Beginning With  Stop Watering  Resume Watering
 1 September 15, 2022  March 15, 2023
 2  September 22, 2022  March 22, 2023
 3  September 29, 2022 March 29, 2023
4  October 6, 2022  April 5, 2023
*Dates may vary depending on when your meter is read by West Wilson Utilities.
