Mt. Juliet, Tenn. - To ensure proper physical distancing, the City of Mt. Juliet is going virtual for the Board of Commissioners meetings and canceling the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for April.
To virtually access the Board of Commissioners meeting on Monday, April 13, 2020, at 6:15 p.m., the community can watch on the City of Mt. Juliet YouTube channel here: http://tiny.cc/CMJYT. Details on how to engage and make public comments can be found here: http://mtjuliet-tn.gov/1567/Online-Citizen-Comments.
"As we continue to adjust City services due to the current State of Emergency that follows Governors Bill Lee’s "Safer at Home" Executive Order, we made some adjustments to our public meetings to ensure our community and citizens were kept safe and informed," stated City Manager Kenny Martin.
To keep planning projects moving forward, the City Manager has suspended Mt. Juliet Land Development Code sections (8-203.3, 14.107.3) that require Planning Commission Recommendation before the Board of Commissioners consideration. This will allow the Planning Commission recommendation items, currently submitted, to be placed on the May 11, 2020, Board of Commissioners agenda for 1st Reading, before the going before the Planning Commission for consideration.
If the State of Emergency is extended beyond April 30, 2020, the Planning Commission meeting, scheduled for May 21, 2020, will be conducted virtually as well.
