Chief Tyler Chandler serves as the Chief of Police for the Mt. Juliet Police Department, bringing over two decades of dedicated law enforcement experience to his leadership. Throughout his career, he has guided key divisions within the department—including community engagement, administrative services, and executive operations—shaping a culture of excellence, innovation, and service.

As Chief, he leads one of the most technologically advanced law enforcement agencies in the region. His forward-thinking vision has driven major initiatives such as the integration of body-worn cameras, license plate reader and real-time crime response systems, and cutting-edge communications tools—all designed to improve operational efficiency and support a proactive, community-focused approach to public safety.

Chief Chandler is deeply committed to servant leadership, earning trust through transparency, collaboration, and strong community partnerships. His guidance and project oversight were instrumental in delivering the department’s new 45,000-square-foot police headquarters—a milestone that reflects the city’s growth and the department’s expanding capabilities.

Beyond his service in uniform, he remains dedicated to mentoring the next generation of leaders as an adjunct professor at Trevecca Nazarene University. He also serves his community as an elected commissioner for Wilson County’s 10th District, a board member of the Mt. Juliet Senior Activity Center, and a Rotarian.

A Mt. Juliet native, Chief Chandler holds a Master of Organizational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and public administration from Bethel University. He is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command and has received multiple accolades throughout his career, including two Sgt. Jerry Mundy Officer of the Year awards, a Chief Commendation, and a lifesaving award.

Chief Chandler remains focused on efficiently advancing modern law enforcement practices while ensuring Mt. Juliet, a city of around 45,000 residents in the Nashville-Metro area, continues to be one of the safest and most vibrant communities in Tennessee.
