Parade Entry Guidelines

CHRISTMAS PARADE GENERAL GUIDELINES- 

Parade Distance is 1.4 miles

    All entries must complete an application and liability waiver to participate in the parade.

    All drivers must have a valid driver’s license to operate a vehicle. 

    The Driver/Float Representative must attend the MANDATORY Drivers meeting on Thursday, Dec. 11th or Friday, Dec. 12th at 6 PM, located at the Mt. Juliet Community Center gymnasium.

    Trailers (floats) must be equipped with railings on all sides, including the front and sides, with a minimum height of 36 inches. This requirement is mandatory when individuals under the age of 14 are present.

    Before being placed in the parade route, there will be a CHECKPOINT. If your float does NOT meet the rules and regulations, you will be turned to the left and circle back around.

    At the end of the parade, there will be 3 drop-off locations. Before participants can offload the vehicle/ float must come to a complete stop and have engines turned off before offloading float participants. If there are no floats or vehicles requiring offloading, they will proceed through East Division towards Golden Bear Gateway.

2. Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce Parking Lot

3. The Fellowship Church (Off of Industrial Drive)- Parking Lot

    The individual who completes this parade application is responsible for their group’s participants.

    Transportation to and from the staging and pick-up location is the responsibility of the participants.

    All entries must promote the parade theme of “Santa’s Workshop”.

    Parade Line-Up will be on a first-in, first-out basis and will start at 7:30 AM. Line-Up will end at 9:30 AM.

    During Parade Line-Up, ONLY the vehicle pulling the float will be allowed in the staging area. NO EXTRA VEHICLES!

    Drivers MUST always stay with their floats. Leaving a float/vehicle unattended is strictly prohibited.

    Parade float and entries shall have a banner that identifies the group or organization.

    All pulled float trailers must be a minimum of 12 feet in length. Smaller trailers will not be allowed.

    Walking participants are required to accompany a float or vehicle due to the length of the parade route. All walkers must be at least 8 years of age.

    Riders under 14 years of age must be secured: Behind railings, OR using tethers/harnesses, OR properly strapped into seatbelts or car seats. 

    Walkers are limited to 20 participants per float/entry.

    Absolutely NO stopping for dancing or distribution of any kind along the parade route.

    All participants/entries must remain moving in a forward motion with the parade during the whole event.

    No Santa’s or full Santa costumes. Our real Santa would be very jealous.

    Parade participants must be dressed in holiday, festive attire.

    CANDY DISTRIBUTION POLICY: THROWING CANDY IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Parade participants aged 13 and older may distribute candy by hand directly to spectators on the sidewalks. This measure is implemented to ensure safety and prevent children from entering the street. We will give each float two aprons for candy distribution, brought to you by The Christmas Place of Mt. Juliet

    Parade will go on rain or shine. Except for severe weather, the Rainout Date is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 14th at 1:00 PM

    Beginning at 10:45 AM on parade day, there will be a moment of silence to honor the memory of Rowan Ace Frensley as well as a prayer.

    Portable Toilet facilities will be available for individuals at the staging location.


Vehicle Entry Guidelines 

  • Antique autos that were manufactured before 1975 will be permitted to participate in the parade.

  • Other vehicle entries may be permitted at the discretion of the committee on a case-by-case basis.

  • Vehicles do not require an identification banner but should be decorated with a Christmas spirit.

  • At all times, Vehicles should be driven in a safe manner and adhere to Tennessee State Law (TCA).

PARADE STAGING DROP-OFF – West Wilson Middle School (935 N. Mt. Juliet Rd, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122)

All participants and floats should arrive at the staging area between 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM. If you arrive past 9:30 AM, you will not be allowed to participate in the parade. Floats will enter the school parking lot off Weston Dr.


PARADE END PICK-UP – East Division Street (22 E Division Street, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122)

All participants and floats will have three pickup locations: 1. Veterans Park (RTA Train Station), 2. Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce Parking Lot, 3. The Fellowship Church (Off of Industrial Dr.) After the parade is over, participants can be picked up at either location if you must offload participants from your float. If you do not have to offload, you can continue straight on East Division towards Golden Bear Gateway.
